Established in 1977, Orthoplastics is recognized globally as the leading supplier of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMWPE), supplying many of the world’s orthopedic device manufacturers. Its premium grade UHMWPE is expertly manufactured onsite in the UK and is the material of choice in a wide range of orthopaedic implants and devices for applications in hips, knees, shoulders, elbows, ankles and fingers.
Today, Orthoplastics is busier than ever as it continues to meet growing customer demand for implant plastics. Its robust ERP system enables the leadership team to increase production and steal a march on many of its competitors.
By using Syspro to automate multiple tasks, Orthoplastics has paved the way to grow its business without hiring additional staff. Prior to installing Syspro, sales staff spent much of their time chasing colleagues on the shop floor to check order status. The ERP system now provides them with the information they need in real time.

The integrated system alleviates the need for duplication of data entry and provides cross-module reporting. It also supports HR staff by automating holiday bookings and absences.
Orthoplastics consistently looks for ways to improve its processes. For example, the company has pushed Syspro’s customization capabilities by building its own custom panes for bulk booking materials, supporting the shop floor in working more efficiently. As a result, a task that would previously take three hours can now be completed in five minutes.
This customization was only possible thanks to Syspro’s low code/no code tools which make it easy for people to design, build, and launch applications quickly. These tools allow solutions to business problems to be delivered faster than with traditional software development.
