Established in 1971, Nenplas is a leading supplier of extruded and fabricated plastic products. The company employs around 120 people and is recognized as an established manufacturer of trade extruded products. Nenplas offers a wide range of services, from technical design to prototyping, manufacturing, fabrication, finishing, distribution and stockholding.
Syspro has helped Nenplas meet its objectives and respond to the changing needs of its customers. ERP capabilities have developed in line with business demands, and as Nenplas looks to expand its production capacity, the system has flexed to meet new demands.
Nenplas has committed to building two new warehouses and has identified the need to use TransLution software to capture and automatically process business data. TransLution’s mobile solutions allow businesses to streamline tasks including inventory physical counts, purchase order receiving, job issues, inventory movements and sales order picking, using handheld devices or a desktop PC. The information entered is validated in real time, saving errors, increasing stock accuracy and production efficiency, and adding value to the company.
Nenplas needed to upgrade to Syspro 8 to capitalize on TransLution within its warehouse operations. The upgrade was completed in November 2023 and has freed up the business to take the next step on its growth journey.
Hillyer and the wider Nenplas team are excited about what the future has in store for their business. There are plans in place to exploit more opportunities around digital integration. Nenplas needed an ERP system with the flexibility to meet its needs, as well as the digital infrastructure to handle changing ownership and acquisition requirements. Important criteria included the system’s ability to adapt in line with business growth, meet changing needs and enable built-in longevity. Nenplas also required access to reliable, real-time data.
In 2006, Nenplas installed Syspro 6 to improve performance, drive efficiency and gain visibility into all its business operations. The company soon moved onto Syspro 7 and is now running Syspro 8. Nenplas uses DataSwitch and Automail to automate time-consuming manual tasks as well as Syspro Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) for advanced planning and scheduling.
