Executing at 200mph: How RFK Racing Runs on Precision, Not Guesswork

Customer Profile

Founded in 1988, RFK Racing is a premier NASCAR team competing at the highest level of motorsport. Operating across 38 races each year, RFK Racing manages a highly complex environment involving millions of individual components, continuous vehicle development, and tightly coordinated logistics across engineering, procurement, and trackside operations.

Each race car is built, rebuilt, and refined using thousands of precision-engineered parts. From diagnostics and testing to wind tunnel development and race-day execution, RFK Racing operates in a constant cycle of iteration where timing, accuracy, and control are critical.

Before Syspro, RFK Racing relied on a competitor purchasing module alongside manual Excel-based purchasing, receiving, and inventory tracking. As the complexity of the supply chain increased following the Next Gen transition, the team needed a single, connected platform to replace that mix of systems.

In 2025, RFK Racing made the switch to Syspro as a unified cloud platform across procurement and finance, creating a single, connected view of its operational environment. The purchasing and accounting teams now operate from the same system, with all AP, AR, and GL activity running through Syspro alongside the full PO and goods received note process.

Syspro enables the team to:

  • Manage approximately 5,000 active parts through the full procurement lifecycle, from purchase order to goods receipt.
  • Maintain accurate visibility over supplier performance and purchasing activity across all external vendors.
  • Run all financial operations including AP, AR, and GL from a single platform, replacing disconnected manual processes.
  • Build automated financial reporting through integration with Insight Software, enabling faster detection of unplanned spending or duplicate orders before they become larger problems.

By replacing a mix of legacy ERP modules and manual spreadsheets with a single connected system, RFK Racing has brought its purchasing and accounting teams onto shared data for the first time.

The Outcome

With Syspro as its operational backbone, RFK Racing has replaced manual, disconnected processes with a single source of truth for procurement and finance. Automated financial reporting, built through integration with Insight Software, allows the team to quickly identify unplanned spending or duplicate orders before they escalate. At reporting time, automated workflows save the team days of work per cycle.

Motorsport is a sport of marginal gains, and that philosophy extends to back-office operations. With 38 races a year, every efficiency matters. RFK Racing also sees Syspro as a foundation for the next phase of operational intelligence, with AI-driven trend analysis in procurement and inventory among the areas the team is actively watching.

Key Challenge

To compete at race pace, RFK Racing must manage an exceptionally complex and fastmoving operational environment. When NASCAR switched to the Next Gen car in 2022, the sport moved to a single-source parts supply model. Parts the team had previously built in-house now had to be ordered from dozens of outside suppliers, making procurement and inventory tracking more critical than ever.

Every part had to be tracked accurately from the time it was ordered to the time it entered the shop and was installed on a race car. With around 5,000 active parts in the system and 38 races a year, the team is responsible for:

  • Managing and tracking thousands of specialized parts ordered from dozens of external suppliers.
  • Coordinating procurement, purchasing, and financial activity across a fixed, unforgiving race schedule.
  • Maintaining full financial visibility across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activity.
  • Ensuring no single part slips through the cracks and delays car preparation ahead of race day.

The race schedule is fixed. Sunday comes whether the car is ready or not. A delay in a single partʼs arrival can disrupt the entire build and put the team in danger of missing a race. That reality makes connected, accurate data non-negotiable.

Key Benefit

  • Improved visibility across parts, procurement, and financial operations.
  • Greater control over purchasing and supplier coordination.
  • Enhanced ability to respond quickly to changes in parts availability and build requirements.
  • Reduced operational risk through more accurate tracking and planning.
  • Increased confidence in race preparation through aligned operational and financial data.
