SYSPRO ERP Functionality, Results Achieved by SYSPRO User Vanns Spices Detailed
BOSTON - June 26, 2013 - SYSPRO, a developer of best-of-breed, award-winning enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for on-premise and cloud-based utilization announced today at the JRocket Marketing Grape Escape® in Boston that the just-released Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC) Process Manufacturing Buyer's Guide includes a detailed listing of the in-depth functionality that SYSPRO ERP software offers process manufacturers.
Process manufacturers are commonly concerned with tracking formulas and recipes, variable units of measure or bulk products, and product ingredients. Process manufacturing often results in a product, which once produced, cannot be broken back down into its component parts.
The Guide advocates that process manufacturers utilize industry specific ERP applications, explaining, "An industry-specific ERP application typically offers deeper functionality than a generic ERP package..." The Guide also touches on mixed-mode manufacturing, noting that many manufacturers employ a variety of processes.
U.S. Salt, for example, a long-time user of SYSPRO ERP software, employs a variety of manufacturing methodologies. These include continuous process, batch process, make-to-stock as well as make-to-order, where U.S. Salt produces special customer formulas and recipes.
The Guide also includes a case study on SYSPRO user Vanns Spices Ltd., a Baltimore, MD-based manufacturer of spices, spice blends, heirloom beans, grains and rice and flavorings. The study details the efficiencies that Vanns, a winner of the 2011 Progressive Manufacturing 100 Award for Data & Integration Mastery, has achieved via the utilization of SYSPRO ERP software.
