Panorama's Eric Kimberling Stresses Need for Business Process Engineering Prior to ERP Implementation
COSTA MESA, Calif. - October 19, 2012 - SYSPRO, a developer of best-of-breed, award-winning enterprise resource planning (ERP) software for on-premise and cloud-based utilization, said today that SYSPRO's ERP award-winning implementation methodology is exemplary and fully complies with the recommendations made in a recent blog by Panorama President Eric Kimberling. In his blog, "Five Reasons Why Business Process Reengineering Should Happen Before Your ERP Implementation," Kimberling states that "business process reengineering should happen before – not after – you begin your ERP implementation."
The award-winning SYSPRO Implementation Methodology is a collaborative tool that, prior to the implementation of SYSPRO ERP, totally aligns all entities in an organization via a visual representation of standard and unique processes and measures. In fact, the SYSPRO Implementation Methodology enables manufacturers and distributors to boost operational efficiencies both during the SYSPRO Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software implementation and later, as the business evolves, utilizing the SYSPRO Process Modeling tool to refine processes as the needs arise.
In his article, Kimberling lists five reasons why business process engineering is a must before ERP implementation:
- Help companies to maintain their competitive advantage; Mitigates the downside of the flexibility of modern ERP systems;
- 'Best practices' do not take into account how a company operates;
- Enables faster realization of business process improvements and business benefits;
- Avoids the trap of automating existing broken processes
SYSPRO in 2010 received the TechAmerica "Terman" award in the Technology Consulting category for its addition to the company's prize winning implementation methodology, extending it with Business Process Management, Enterprise Analysis Modeling and Work-Flow Management. This addition greatly enhances the implementation methodology by effectively increasing the ROI of SYSPRO ERP during the lifetime value of SYSPRO software.

SYSPRO has earned the trust of more than 14,500 companies in 60 countries for its suite of visionary software that enhances the competitive thrust of small/mid-sized manufacturers and distributors. The company's adherence to developing technology based on the needs of customers is among the reasons why SYSPRO enjoys one of the highest customer retention rates in the industry.
